Today i got woken up by my mom telling me that my car was crashed into...... the left rear quarter panel is super dented. What a way to start off the day, i will have pics up soon
OH fun stuff. My car was hit and run and the night that it happened we were at a party so I was wasted and did not even notice it till the next day at like 5pm.
i had similar damage to my car.... after the ex hubby crashed it.. thankfully insurance covered it, and it got fixed, all i had to pay was the deductable .... the damage was about $2500
definately talk to your insurance, paying the deductable is alot better than paying it outright...trust me
yeah i already contacted my insurance thanks. but wow both damages are near identical minus being on opposite sides. how long did the fixing process take? and what kind of work was done? side note; i was wondering if i could might as well paint my skirts while its in the shop. is there a way to get this done while having insurance pay

Well... for my car the bumper had to be replaced, as well as the side quarter panel which we don't realize extends to the front of the car (its the thin piece above the doors and below the roof ), not to mention the whole bumper assembly. But your LUCKY, your bumper didn't get ripped off! and of course the back break light.
Fixing process in all took about 2 weeks due to the fact that Subaru was being dumb, and took forever to ship the parts needed to the shop, which delayed the repainting... and of course the paint had to cure, so they had to give it time.
As far as getting your side skirts painted, you'll probably have to pay for that outright if you want it done, because most repair places note all damaged areas and nothing more.. They pretty much only do what is needed to make it look the way it was before nothing more/ nothing less...
** if you end up getting a rental car.. make sure to get the insurance on it!!! i got the insurance (which i never did ) and my rental car was also in a hit and run, then its replacement was dinged badly!! ****
seriously tho...NO BULLSHIT..2 weeks ago or so my ride was smacked ever-so-slightly on the right rear along the bumber n on the edges of the fenderwell as i was getting some subway...not gone for more than 4-5 minutes, return back to a freakin crime scene. what sucked is when i come back its like all of a sudden its a ghost town around my car as if it never happened 1 more case of the dreaded ''hit-n-run''
i would no shit start cryin if someone did that to me. that sucks big ones man. i hope your insurance helps you out cuz thats a big piggy bank you would have to break to get it fixed. and from the looks of it. they prolly have to cut and weld in a new piece.

about 2 months after i got my car fixed and had a nice new bumper.. i was in an antique store.... yes and antique store!!! for maybe an hour... and someone backed into my car and dented my nice new bumper and bent the license plate almost in half!! and no note or anything..... some grandma just hit my car and left!
worst part was they had security cameras that should have caught the license plate of the car that did it since i knew the color ( paint transfer) but it was a new one... and no plates yet!!
i still havent gotten the damage fixed from that one.. but its not horrible... im waiting for the money to take the car in and have all the dings, dents and scratches removed (car was scratched and dinged before i bought it )

my bumper damage isnt that bad, gets more visable the cleaner my car is.. lol.. but still.. yes.. just makes me upset every time i look at the license plate..

wow these people that hit and run are fucked up. last week a co worker was making deliveries when a semi truck side swiped him and then took the next off ramp to get away

nope, i got mine fixed at a shop that was suggested by my insurance.. The shop was nice, and the guys that worked there had extensive knowledge of Subarus which made me feel a lot better when i dropped it off...
it was Subaru that dragged their feet getting the replacement parts to my repair shop.... i don't know what for either.... maybe my year i dunno...
all i know is the owner of the shop felt bad that he told me a date, that he wasn't able to meet due to the delays, so he took care of the entire rental car fee... since at the time i didn't have car rental service on my insurance.....

a rear 1/4 panel isnt just a panel on most cars. its actually part of the body of the car so to repair it, the shop would have to cut out the damaged part and weld in new metal that is formed to the make and model of the car. i dunno if imprezas are like that. i assume they are. or they have hammer out the damage then drill holes where the crease's are in the metal then patch up the holes.
well i dropped my car off at a shop that my insurance suggested, they seemed really cool and professional so i feel i left it in the right hands. The only thing is its gonna take around 3 weeks because theres alot of damage that cant be seen in the pictures. They explained the whole process and it seems they know what they are doing. The total without insurance would have been around 3,800 and some change. SO in retrospect the $500 deductible isnt so bad

My deductable was $1000... What shop did your insurance end up sending you to?
